DuPont and Bock in strategic partnership to expand UK enzymes distribution
Ahead of the upcoming UK AD & Biogas and World Biogas Expo in Birmingham next week, DuPont Industrial Biosciences has announced that intends to provide its biogas enzyme biotechnology to Bock UK for distribution of the biogas enzymes to customers across the country.
DuPont Industrial Biosciences, a division within the US-headed global chemical and biological engineering company DuPont and silage storage specialists Bock UK Ltd have announced a strategic partnership where Bock will demonstrate DuPont’s biogas enzyme technology at commercial scale in the UK market.
Launched in July last year DuPont’s “Optimash AD-100” liquid enzyme technology has been shown to help biogas producers in the agricultural sector improve biogas yields by up to 13 percent and process robustness in anaerobic digesters (AD), which ultimately can increase customers’ revenue and profitability while simultaneously increasing offerings in renewable energy.
The biotechnology works by accelerating the breakdown of various materials such as maize silage, grasses, straw, as well as manures and some food wastes, resulting in sugars more suitable for conversion into biogas.
According to a statement, DuPont intends to provide this enzyme biotechnology to Bock for distribution of the biogas enzymes to customers across the United Kingdom. Bock UK is a leader in silage storage supplying over 50 anaerobic digestion (AD) plants in the UK with its patented sloping wall silage clamps and many more plants with silage clamp covers and accessories.
Since the launch of DuPont’s enzyme biotechnology, we have been confident that our biogas enzymes can help rural and farm communities around the world. This strategic partnership with Bock UK brings our biotechnology to those customers in the UK and improves biogas production and economics through the use of DuPont enzyme technologies, said Dr Jaclyn DeMartini, Global Business Director of Biogas Enzymes, DuPont Industrial Biosciences.
The announcement of the strategic partnership comes ahead of the upcoming UK AD & Biogas and World Biogas Expo that takes place next week in Birmingham, UK.
We are very proud to form this strategic partnership with DuPont and are eager to bring this biogas enzyme technology to our network of consumers in the United Kingdom. With our expertise in silage storage across the country AD industry and DuPont’s track record as a world-leading industrial biotechnology company, I am confident that this partnership will produce great results and bring customers an exceptional product that will ultimately increase the financial performance of UK AD plants said Will Wilson, Business Development Manager, Bock UK.
