Finland-headed material handling and size reduction specialist BMH Technology Oy has announced that it has signed a contract with ENGIE Servicios Energeticos S.A. (ENGIE Spain) for the delivery and installation of a biomass fuel handling system to Roselló, Lleida in Spain.
According to a statement, the system will replace an existing natural gas-fired co-
generation plant with a brand new biomass-fired steam plant to be built at the Alier papermill in Roselló.
The biomass fuel handling system, the value of which has not been disclosed, will be delivered and installed during 2023 and the facility will be taken over at the end of 2023.
With this contract, BMH strengthens its leadership in the Spanish market where the company currently has eight external fuel handling projects successfully delivered over the last ten years.
We welcome ENGIE as a customer and hope this is the first of multiple biomass projects we could work together on in the future, said Marcos Arizti, Sales Manager of BMH Technology.
The delivery includes the design, manufacture, erection, and commissioning of an external fuel handling system. The system consists of fuel receiving, fuel quality control, and storage equipment with an intermediate 4 700 m3 silo in addition to electrification, automation, and a sprinkler system.
ENGIE continues to grow in the Energy Solutions division, paving the road to a carbon-neutral business for on-site utilities. We are glad to have a well-experienced company such as BMH for the external fuel handling system, said
Sergio Orero Esteban, Engineering Area Manager of ENGIE Spain for Asset-Based Projects.
