Enerstena wins tender for Ukrainian district heat plant

Lithuanian combustion technology engineers, Enerstena have been awarded a contract to build a 4 MW biomass-fired hot water heating system for the Ivano-Frankivsk city district heating network in the Ukraine.

According to Enerstena it is the first public tender of its kind in the Ukraine. The contract signed with the Ivano-Frankivsk city district heating network is worth around EUR 1.3 million. Enerstena will build a biomass-fired 4 MW water heating boiler-house for the customer, with a flue gas condenser and a fuel storage and delivery system. In addition two economisers for the already-existing gas boilers will also be installed. The entire project will be completed within the relatively short period of nine months.

– We are experienced in designing and manufacturing versatile and easily adaptable equipment. In this tender, we provided the most acceptable proposal to the customer and were even ranked ahead of several well-known energy companies. In this project, we are continuing the purposeful implementation of a key strategic goal of the Group – the development of exports – which will contribute to the optimisation of the Ukrainian energy economy, said Virginijus Ramanauskas, General Director of Enerstena Group.

The deal is the second contract to the Ukraine. The first was for a flue gas condenser which was signed in August 2015 and commissioned in March 2016.
