EnviTec signs agreement for first biogas project in Japan

EnviTec Biogas AG has announced that it has signed a planning contract for a 250 kW biowaste-based biogas plant near the Japanese city of Osaka, its first project in Japan.

Germany-headed biogas technology developer and supplier EnviTec Biogas AG has announced that it has signed a planning contract for a 250 kW biowaste-based biogas plant near the Japanese city of Osaka, its first project in Japan.

– With our new construction project, we are setting new standards not only in the region but also in the field of energy generation using waste material from supermarket and restaurant waste. The Japanese government has introduced electricity compensations for twenty years at a rate of 28 cents, said Hendrik van der Tol, EnviTec Regional Director Asia/Pacific in a statement.

EnviTec Biogas, together with its Japanese business partner Renagen Inc., was a part of the “Grand Renewable Energy” trade fair in Tokyo beginning of August. Renagen is a carve-out company of Rematec Corporation-a leading company in waste recycling in Japan and Southeast.

– With EnviTec Biogas, we are proud to have an internationally renowned biogas plant supplier on our side, with whom in the future we can offer installation engineering made in Germany, in Japan, said Daisuke Mishima, Chairman of Renagen.
