Denmark-headed waste-to-energy technology specialists, Babcock & Wilcox Vølund A/S a wholly owned subsidiary of US-based Babcock & Wilcox, has announced that its Swedish flue-gas treatment company Götaverken Miljö AB will be change names to be Babcock & Wilcox Vølund AB as per 1 January 2017. Since the acquisition in 2010, Götaverken Miljö has gradually become increasingly integrated in the B&W Vølund organisation.
– I am delighted that Götaverken Miljö is now a fully integrated part of our company. This has been a natural step for us as the company fits perfectly into the Babcock & Wilcox Vølund strategy and organisation. Currently, together we are building four turnkey energy recovery facilities in the UK, and I am looking forward to an exciting future together as one company, said John Veje Olesen, Managing Director, Babcock & Wilcox Vølund A/S in a statement.
The present locations and operations in Denmark and Sweden will be maintained as separate legal entities, and therefore all agreements with Götaverken Miljö will remain unchanged. Götaverken Miljö AB will consequently be named Babcock & Wilcox Vølund AB and will remain as a supplier of services, plants and technologies for flue gas cleaning and energy recovery in the biomass and waste-to-energy sector.
