KR Pulp & Papers is among India’s leading manufacturers of eco-friendly paper made from agro residues such as bagasse, and wheat straw, and has more than two decades of expertise and experience in making paper from non-conventional raw material. The company’s products include writing and printing papers as well as industrial and packaging grade papers.
The new recovery boiler is designed to handle a mixture of hardwood and agro-based black liquor and enables environmentally friendly and highly energy-efficient operation when compared to the black liquor incinerator previously used at the mill.
As a result, the mill’s pulp production, as well as the power-to-heat ratio, will increase substantially. The boiler also features a unique vertical air system to minimize air emissions.
We are thankful to the ANDRITZ team members for their assistance in the completion of the project with a high level of professionalism and dedication, which we very much appreciate, commented SG Agarwal, Director, KR Pulp and Papers.
The scope of supply also included:
- Engineering for the entire system, excluding civil work and the electrical and automation equipment;
- All pressure parts;
- Auxiliaries such as start-up oil burners, black liquor burners, and smelt spouts;
- Safety-related system (SRS)
According to ANDRITZ, this was the first HERB recovery boiler sold in India with its proprietary technology and the third of six HERB recovery boilers from the company currently being installed in the country.
