Fire damages Pinnacle's Entwistle plant
In Canada, wood pellet major Pinnacle Renewable Energy Inc., (Pinnacle) has temporarily suspended operations at its Entwistle production facility in Alberta (AB) following a fire that broke out at the plant on February 11.
According to a statement, a fire occurred at the facility, causing injuries to personnel and damage to part of the facility. The company reported that one employee was taken to hospital for treatment and several employees sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident and were treated on site.
Emergency personnel were notified immediately and were at the facility promptly to treat injured employees and extinguish the fire. At present, the cause of the fire is unknown but a formal investigation into the incident will commence.
The 400 000 tonne-per-annum Entwistle facility entered into commercial production in June 2018.
