Loarp Energi back in production after New Year blaze
Swedish wood pellet producer Loarp Energi AB has resumed production at its facility in Tågarp, southern Sweden. Production had been halted as a result of a blaze in early January that destroyed the building that housed the production facility.
The fire in January caused extensive material damage and resulted in a total production stoppage of the 20 000 tonne-per-annum facility. After just over two months of downtime, a new 3.5 tonne per hour production unit at Loarp has commenced operations. It is based on a prefab solution developed by Rematec in Germany together with Procon (Estonia) and Salmatec (Germany).
Our focus from the start was to get back into production as soon as possible. Now we have literally risen out of the ashes, stronger and also a bit better than before. The press and our bulk delivery truck are rolling again, which allows us to help all those customers who have been loyal and waiting for us in a time of sustained cold weather, said Petter Krantz, CEO of Loarp Energy.
