Pinnacle Renewable Energy Inc., is going ahead with its plans to build a new 475 000 tonne per annum wood pellet plant in Entwistle outside Edmonton, Canada. The CA$85 million project will be the company's first pellet plant in the province of Alberta (AB).
British Columbia (BC) based Pinnacle Renewable Energy Inc., the largest pellet producer, and exporter in Canada is going ahead with its Entwistle pellet plant project in Alberta (AB). The 475 000 tonne per annum capacity plant will be the first pellet plant in Alberta for the company.
According to a statement from Parkland County, construction of the estimated CA$85 million investment is scheduled to start summer 2017 beginning with a new road to the ≈ 30 ha site acquired by Pinnacle. The site is located one kilometre east of downtown Entwistle with access to the Canadian National Rail line.

Currently, Pinnacle operates seven pellet plants throughout BC with a combined annual production capacity in excess of 1.5 million tonnes. The new Entwistle plant is expected to be operational in the spring of 2018.
