Germany-headed biomass gasification technology provider Spanner Re² GmbH (Re²) has recently announced that it will supply three HKA70 EnergyBlock containers with moving floor dryers to an undisclosed location in Congo.

In Congo, at the same undisclosed location, two existing Re² HKA70 EnergyBlock containers with moving floors are in operation. These will be supplemented by another three HKA70 EnergyBlock containers with moving floor dryers from Re².

The delivery, scheduled for the end of 2024, is expected to provide a power grid to the surrounding inhabited area in the future. The heat is used to dry woodchips.

The area is dominated by rubberwood plantations for latex production. The waste wood, available in large quantities from the timber industry, is shredded and automatically dried in the moving floor dryers, enabling a decentralized and sustainable energy supply with regional fuelwood.
