Komatsu to acquire TimberPro

In the United States (US), Komatsu America Corp., a subsidiary of Sweden-headed global forest machinery manufacturer Komatsu Forest, has announced that it has entered into a "definitive agreement" to acquire compatriot forest machinery producer TimberPro, Inc for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition is expected to close on April 1, 2019, subject to completion of the closing conditions.

TimberPro Inc., is a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of purpose-built forest machines and attachments, here a 735 B-Series feller-buncher. Komatsu America Corp has reached an agreement to acquire the company (photo courtesy TimberPro).

TimberPro Inc., a Wisconsin (WI) based manufacturer of purpose-built forest machines and attachments, offers tracked feller-bunchers and harvesters, forwarders, wheeled harvesters and felling heads. The value of the proposed acquisition has not been disclosed.

Currently, Komatsu Forest and Komatsu America Corp. offer a wide range of cut-to-length machines, attachments, and equipment for full tree length handling.

According to Komatsu, with the acquisition of TimberPro, the company further strengthens its position in the full tree length segment and can now offer “a highly competitive range” of products for all types of professional logging.
