Prodesa reveals PelletBOX – a containerized pellet plant
Spain-headed biomass densification technology developer and provider Prodesa has recently revealed details of its latest pellet plant innovation – PelletBOX by Prodesa, a containerized pelleting plant.
According to a statement, the “PelletBOX by Prodesa” as the solution is called, combines the “reliability and quality” of Prodesa pellet plants with the versatility of a containerized plant. The company also says, is “suitable for all types of biomass” and production capacities of up to 5 tonnes per hour or ≈ 30 000 tonnes per annum.
This new containerized pellet plant system minimizes transportation costs, as well as Balance Of Plant (BOP) and assembly on site. The “plug & play” style concept means that the pellet plant can be in production one week after the arrival of the containers at the site.
The complete grinding and pelletizing lines are placed in four 40-foot sea containers. The optimal design and interior layout “guarantees” the necessary spaces for correct operation and maintenance (O&M) of the plant.
According to Prodesa the main advantages of its PelletBOX are:
- Compact size
- Easy transport
- Reduction of Balance of Plant (BOP) costs thanks to minimum foundation and non-requirement of buildings
- Minimum on-site assembly times
- Easy access and maintenance.
- Mobility – the containerised design allows for the movement and relocation of the pellet plant if required
The first unit has successfully completed the engineering, manufacturing and pre-assembly stages in the workshop in Spain and is currently in transit to its final destination in the United States (US).
