Ten pairs of Olofsfors tracks gone off track

In Sweden, forest track manufacturer Olofsfors AB has reported a break-in whereby thieves came over 10 pairs of forest tracks.

Ten pairs of forest tracks have been stolen from Olofsfors (image courtesy Olofsfors).

According to Olofsfors, the theft occurred between November 2 and 3, 2018, in which ten pairs of forest tracks were stolen from the premises. The tracks are of same model, 299-644020 Baltic 26 700/710 – 26.5 and are designed for use on soft ground.

The tracks have following serial number; 25371, 37615, 37616, 37617, 37618, 39546, 39547, 38990, 38991, 46303.

We would like to block the sales of these tracks and they will probably be sold outside normal dealer channels, commented Göran Nyberg, CEO, Olofsfors AB adding that the company would appreciate hearing about any such sales.

Heavy lifting and trailer transportation would have been required as each set weighs about 2 tonnes – 10 sets of tracks has a weight of about 20 tonnes suggesting that at least one trailer was needed for transportation. The modus operandi of the theft also suggests that it was well organised.
