Valmet to deliver 21 solids measurement units to Shanghai Bailonggang WWTP
Finland-headed forest industry and energy technology provider Valmet Oyj has announced that it will supply 21 solids measurement units to Asia's largest wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), Shanghai Bailonggang Wastewater Treatment Plant in China.
According to a statement, the order consists of 21 Valmet Total Solids Measurements (Valmet TS) with high-pressure (PN100) option. The expected benefits include polymer and energy savings, and more efficient use of dewatering centrifuges. Optimization of dry-cake total solids provides better utilization of solids transportation capacity and incineration.
The equipment order, the value of which has not been disclosed, will be delivered in May 2019.
Valmet TS measures and controls total solids for optimum process performance. Based on microwave technology, it is a reliable and accurate meter for all wastewater sludge treatment applications, 0 – 40 percent total solids (TS), providing savings in energy, polymer dosing, and transportation.
Valmet TS is a reliable online measurement device, it will help the wastewater treatment plant to save polymer dosing, as well as to monitor dryness of the dry cake, explained Tang Jinzhong, Technical Manager from Valmet’s local distributor, Zexi Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd.
Shanghai Bailonggang Wastewater Treatment Plant is one of the biggest wastewater treatment plants in Asia. Established in 2008, the WWTP serves a population of about 3.56 million people with a capacity to treat 2 million m3 per day.
It is a repeat order from this customer. Based on the successful Valmet TS application in the plant, our customer trusts Valmet’s technology and the product. We are confident that our solids measurement systems and innovative technology will offer reliability to the end customer when optimizing their wastewater treatment plants, said Kevin Li, Channel Manager, Automation business line, Valmet.
