Earlier this year, STEP announced that it will build and operate the plant to deliver industrial utilities to BASF Battery Finland Oy new battery materials plant.

We already use Valmet DNA as the main automation system at our Harjavalta power plant. As Valmet was able to offer a competitive package, it was logical to expand the existing automation system to cover the new plant, too. Having only one system makes maintenance much easier as the staff already knows how to work with it. Additionally, the project gives us a very good chance to get familiarized with the new Valmet DNA User Interface, said Mika Nuotio, Automation Engineer, STEP.

The delivery, the value of which has not been disclosed, will take place in spring 2021.

It is a pleasure to continue our long-term cooperation with STEP in this very interesting project. The company currently has an automation system with DNA Operate process displays. This project will enable the customer to get acquainted with the new Valmet DNA User Interface and enjoy its many benefits, said Arto Mäkinen, Sales Manager, Automation, Valmet.
