Biogas technology provider Weltec Biopower GmbH scooped the Top Five Lower Saxony Foreign Trade Award at a ceremony held at the Hannover Messe in Germany.
– The Made in Germany’ label is a special cachet and thus an export driver. The submissions were of a high quality and impressed me and the jury. By means of their overseas activities, all of the participating companies make a key contribution to the preservation and development of jobs in our federal state, said Olaf Lies, Minister of the Economy for Lower Saxony, Germany during the award ceremony.
The so-called “Export Oscar of the North“ was awarded for the eighth time on April 26 at the Foreign Trade Conference held during Hannover Messe, the world‘s largest industrial trade show.
The 10-person jury selected the winners from about 40 businesses, all of whom have delivered outstanding performance in the international competition. The German biogas plant manufacturer was among the Top Five in the category of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME).
– To be among the Top Five is an acknowledgment of our export strategy, which has run through our company history like a common thread ever since our foundation in 2001. We built our first biogas plant outside Germany back in 2003. Meanwhile, more than 300 Weltec plants have been set up in 25 countries on five continents, said Jens Albartus, Director of Weltec.
