Finland-headed industrial conveying solutions provider Laitex Oy has recently announced that it has been contracted to deliver complete fuel and ash handling systems to a 35 MWe biomass power plant in Turkey. The fuel for the plant will be chicken-litter.

According to a statement, the supply includes fuel receiving for chicken litter and ash handling systems with auxiliary equipment around the grate fired boiler. Strict environmental and safety standards are followed and the high availability of boiler needs to be met.
Starting with extensive engineering, equipment deliveries will take place in late 2020 followed with commissioning activities during the second half of 2021. The value of the contract has not been disclosed.
The greenfield investment in Turkey is supporting local targets for cleaner energy and is a great example of circular economy: earlier seen a waste product from local farmers is utilized as fuel and turned to energy.
Laitex is committed to providing sustainable solutions and we would like to see more similar projects in the future where waste is turned to valuable asset and all material flows are utilized, commented Lasse Kurronen, CEO of Laitex.
