Danish biomass energy and pyrolysis technology company, Dall Energy ApS, has announced that it has acquired French biomass technology provider Weiss France Énergie (Weiss) and its affiliate Biomasse Services et Maintenance (BSM) from Groupe Roullier for an undisclosed amount.
Weiss France Énergie designs and installs biomass boilers for industrial, tertiary, and agricultural buildings and heating networks. Weiss had been owned by the Groupe Roullier since 2012.
Dall Energy has experienced a surge in demand among French municipalities and businesses, resulting in growth for the company in France.
Complementary technologies
Aspiring to become a leader in biomass process technology in France, the acquisition by Dall Energy will fortify this market leadership strategy.
Together, they will deliver solutions that help drive the green-energy transition for the French district heating and processing industries.
We are thrilled about this acquisition. Weiss is a local, leading energy technology provider, and our technologies complement each other. Together, we will deliver even better solutions to the country’s district heating companies and processing industry, said Jens Dall Bentzen, CEO of Dall Energy.
Both Dall Energy and Weiss specialize in developing biomass technologies, offering solutions, and servicing plants directly or through partnerships.
This extends to dry biomass sources, low-cost wet biomass, and feedstock with high levels of contaminants.
We are proud to be able to combine our skills with those of Dall Energy and allow our customers to have a complete technological offer for bioenergy recovery. Our teams will be keen to provide the new group with the sense of service and professionalism that characterizes both Weiss and BSM, said Frédéric Autret, Managing Director of Weiss.
Leverage strong synergies
Going forward, Dall Energy and Weiss will work with the main investor Eiffel IG which has invested an undisclosed amount via its Eiffel Essentiel fund to help mitigate climate change by replacing fossil fuels and improving energy efficiency.
Initially in France, but likely soon across the entire EU, where the Green Energy Transition is in a key phase.
Our mission is to drive the green energy transition with investments in sustainable tech solutions, so we are thrilled to be part of Dall Energy and Weiss’s joining forces to deliver such solutions to the world. Also, this is likely just the first acquisition aimed at enhancing Dall Energy’s reach. And we believe, in time, this will become a European venture, commented Thibault Vanpeene, Investments Director at Eiffel IG.
In total, the companies consist of about 100 employees across France and Denmark. Weiss and BSM will continue their business out of their respective offices in France.
During 2024, Weiss will assist Dall Energy in setting up a “Dall Energy France”-company, which will be the entity from which local Dall Energy projects will be executed.
France remains a primary market for us, and Weiss’ vast network and partners will help us build even closer relationships there. First, as separate entities. We have planned the Post Merger Integration (PMI) process this fall, so we can harvest synergies as soon as possible, ended Jens Dall Bentzen.
