Forest Energy (Kuni Umi Biomass Inc.) and Cortus Energy have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to cooperate on joint biomass to power projects in Japan.
Forest Energy (Kuni Umi Biomass Inc.), a Japanese bioenergy project developer and operator and Cortus Energy, a Swedish biomass gasification technology developer have sign a preliminary agreement on joint projects for the lucrative Japanese biomass power market. Forest Energy is currently the principal for two biomass power projects totalling 25 MW electricity and now wants to expand the business further within the more profitable 2 MW electric capacity level using modular 6 MW biomass gasification units developed by Cortus Energy.
Cortus Energy develops and markets its “WoodRoll” biomass gasification technology for cost-effective energy solutions for power, industrial and transportation applications.
– We now see an opening to the highly profitable Japanese market through cooperation with the Forest Energy. We are particularly delighted at the Forest Energy’s extensive evaluation process of several gasification technologies have led to the choice of Cortus Energy WoodRoll technology, said Rolf Ljunggren, CEO, Cortus Energy in a comment.
