Hyundai selected as EPC for Korean biomass power plant project

Korea-headed Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd has been selected as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor by South Korea-based CGN Daesan Power Co., Ltd., an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Bermuda-headed CGN New Energy Holdings Co., Ltd, for a 109 MW biomass power plant to be built at Dokgot 2-ro, Daesan-eup, Seosan-si, Chungcheongnam-do in South Korea.

According to CGN Daesan Power, the 109 MW Daesan Biomass Power Plant is to be designed, engineered, procured, constructed, installed, tested, commissioned, completed and rectified under the EPC contract. The total consideration under the deal is approximately KRW295 billion (≈ US$277 million), inclusive of all taxes.

The scope of supply includes a single boiler based on circulating fluidized bed (CFB) combustion technology, one steam turbine and generator set, one main transformer, one surface condenser, one hybrid cooling tower and one flue stack.
