Denmark-based biomass combustion technology specialists Justsen Energiteknik A/S has revealed that it has established a joint venture company in China together with Wuhan Optics Valley Bluefire New Energy Co. Ltd. Called Bluefire New Energy Equipment (Wuhan) Co. Ltd, the company will be based in Wuhan City, Hubei Province and will supply biomass boiler systems to Greater China and Southeast Asia.

According to a statement, Justsen Energiteknik A/S is providing 25 percent of the startup capital for Bluefire New Energy Equipment (Wuhan) Co. Ltd with the remainder provided by the partner Wuhan Optics Valley Bluefire New Energy Co. Ltd. A signing ceremony, held June 25 in Copenhagen, Denmark, marked the launch of the new joint venture.
The event concluded over two years of negotiations and the implementation of a pilot project whereby two 25 tonne per hour Justsen biomass-fired steam boiler systems were supplied and commissioned for a beverage production facility in Wuhan.
It is the purpose of the JV to manufacture and market carbon-neutral biomass boiler plants to replace coal or gas-fired technologies. The boiler systems will be equipped with a selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) system to minimize NOx emissions and particle filters to minimize particulate matter (PM) emissions.
