In the united States (US), Musser Biomass and Wood Products LLC (Musser Biomass), a leading engineered wood fiber and premium pellet producer, has announced a new sustainability partnership with Trex Company Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of wood-composite decking and a pioneer in recycled materials innovation.

As part of this collaboration, Musser Biomass will proudly display the “NexTrex Recycling” logo on its “Forest Fuel Heating”, “Forest Farm Bedding”, and “Alpha Fiber Bedding” product lines.

This initiative highlights the shared commitment of both companies to responsible material sourcing, waste reduction, and environmental stewardship.

Sustainability has always been at the heart of what we do. Partnering with Trex, an icon in circular manufacturing, brings even more credibility and impact to our efforts. This logo on our packaging isn’t just a badge—it’s a signal to our customers that they’re supporting a smarter, cleaner future, said Ed Musser, CEO of Musser Biomass.

Musser Biomass operates one of the most advanced low-temperature drying systems in North America, reducing energy use and preserving the integrity of wood fiber.

Through partnerships like this one with Trex, Musser Biomass is further extending the life cycle of valuable resources and supporting a circular economy.

Through its “NexTrex” program, Trex Company recycles everyday plastic film materials, keeping them out of landfills and turning them into high-performance composite decking.

The use of the NexTrex logo signifies a company’s verified participation in this program and its adherence to best practices in sustainable sourcing and processing. It also conveys to consumers that the packaging material can be recycled through the NexTrex program.

We’re excited to welcome Musser Biomass into the NexTrex community. Their leadership in renewable heating and animal care products makes them a natural fit for our mission to keep flexible plastics out of the waste stream and give them new life, said Stephanie Hicks, Materials and Recycling Programs Manager for Trex Company.

The updated packaging will roll out nationwide, giving environmentally conscious consumers and retailers a clear symbol of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
