In the United States (US), Enviva LLC, the world's largest industrial wood pellet producer, has held the official opening ceremony of Enviva Epes in Alabama, its tenth facility. With a nameplate capacity of approximately 1 million tonnes per annum, it is currently the world's largest wood pellet plant.
As the world’s largest pellet mill, Enviva Epes now joins the Enviva operating fleet in delivering a renewable energy solution to customers around the globe.
Earlier this year, Enviva closed its Amory pellet plant in Mississippi. Acquired from CKS Energy in 2010, the 115,000 tonnes per annum plant was Enviva’s first US-located facility.
Enviva LLC now owns and operates ten pellet plants located in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and Alabama exporting its wood pellets to global markets through its deep-water marine terminals at the Port of Chesapeake, Virginia, the Port of Wilmington, North Carolina, the Port of Pascagoula, Mississippi, and the Port of Epes, Alabama, and from third-party deep-water marine terminals in the Port of Savannah, Georgia, Port of Mobile, Alabama, and Panama City, Florida.
