Italy-based mechanical separation and screening technology provider Ecostar S.r.l has announced that it will present "Hextra", a new mobile screener, at the upcoming IFAT 2018 international environmental technology trade show in Munich, Germany.

According to Ecostar, the Hextra mobile screener is based on its “X Factor, which is a Dynamic Disc Screening (DDS) technology patented by the company. By using a series of hexagonal disc shafts with a flat profile, this proprietary system ensures high precision in the screening of all types of material, minimizing twisting thanks to its “Anti Wrapping” technology, and can reach productivity levels of up to 200 tonnes per hour with low energy consumption.
The DDS is currently utilized for the mechanical separation and screening of many types of residual waste and biomass to recover secondary materials and/or for the preparation of alternative fuels such as Refuse Derived Fuels (RDF) or compost.
Hextra incorporates new innovations such as the patent-pending “Smart Hopper”, which facilitates the management of the inbound material, the exclusion of the third fraction in the 3-fraction version, and the creation of a loop solution with any shredder.
We are proud of this product because it represents the synthesis of our values, expertise, innovation, and quality. Starting from the launch and the beginning of production at the end of 2017, our new Hextra is enjoying worldwide success among all our distributors and international customers, said Filippo Cappozzo, Sales Director, Ecostar.
