Stelmet increases production capacity with second pellet plant

Poland-based Stelmet S.A., one of Europe's largest producers of wooden garden furniture and furnishings is expanding its wood pellet production capacity by building a second plant, this time in Grudziądz its MrGarden production facility. This will bring the total annual pellet production capacity for the company to 150 000 tonnes.

Stelmet currently operates five primary – and secondary wood processing facilities in Poland manufacturing a wide range of outdoor wood components and products including posts, fencing, grids, boards, platforms, pergolas, flowerbeds, gazebos, and tool sheds. The company already has a 110 000 tonnes per annum pellet plant integrated at its Zielona Góra facility and operational since 2008.

In July 2017, the company decided to invest in a second pellet production facility, this time at its MrGarden plant in Grudziądz that began operations in 2016. Construction works for the 40 000 tonnes-per-annum pellet plant are already advanced with production scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2018.
