URBAS to supply boiler to SLDK for capacity expansion

Austria-headed URBAS Energietechnik part of Urbas Maschinenfabrik GmbH has recently announced that it has been commissioned to deliver a 30 MW biomass-fired hot water boiler system to LLC SLDK Timan Timber (SLDK) in Syktyvkar, Komi Republic, Russia.

Founded in 2000, SLDK is a modern wood processing company that produces plywood, sawn- and planed wood, pallets, woodchips, and wood pellets primarily from Angara pine (Pinus sibirica) and Siberian larch (Larix sibirica). The company is investing in the modernization and capacity expansion of the sawmill and pellet mill.

URBAS Energietechnik has been commissioned to deliver a 30 MW biomass-fired hot water boiler system to secure the heat supply for the expansion. The order, the value of which has not been disclosed, includes a state-of-the-art URBAS boiler system with vertical afterburning.

The contract also includes the implementation of the heating equipment for the needs-based supply of all heat consumers – dry kilns, chip drying, and heating of the production halls.
