Sustainable Technology Corporation, a subsidiary of Petron Scientech, Inc., has recently announced that it has completed the acquisition from DuPont, the complete technology assets for the world-class, second-generation technology developed and demonstrated by DuPont, capable of commercially producing ethanol from cellulosic biomass.

According to a statement, the acquired assets, the value of which has not been disclosed, includes all associated intellectual property and patents including that for process design and the zymomonas ethanologens.

The acquisition of this technology by Sustainable Technology Corporation allows Petron Scientech, a leading developer and licensor of chemical process technologies using both renewable and petroleum feedstocks, to expand the family of renewable fuels and chemicals technologies that it licenses and provides, including those to produce biofuels, olefins from alcohols, including ethylene from ethanol, ethylene oxide, and ethylene glycol, along with other ethylene derivatives such as polyethylene, EDC and SBR

Sustainable Technology Corporation plans to license the technology globally including biorefineries under development by BioChem USA, LLC.
