In Sri Lanka, Ductor Pte Ltd (Ductor), a Singapore-based subsidiary of Finland-headed biogas technology developer Ductor Oy and Endeavour Bio Fertilizer Pvt Ltd (Endeavour) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The purpose of the MoU is to explore collaboration in the form of establishing a joint venture to produce biogas and fertilizers from chicken manure using Ductor’s proprietary biogas technology.

According to Ductor, the biogas plant, for which an agreement is meant to be signed next autumn, would use 130 000 tonnes per annum of chicken manure. The longterm aim is to build new plants in the future and to make Sri Lanka self-sufficient regarding organic fertilizers.
