Germany-headed biogas specialist Weltec Biopower GmbH reaffirms its independence as a leading manufacturer of biogas plants. In 2023, Weltec Biopower separated from WELtec Holding GmbH. In the course of this separation, WELtec Holding changed its name to Nexogas Holding GmbH in July 2025, while Weltec Biopower remains independent.
According to a statement, the core business of Weltec Biopower “is, and remains, the planning and construction of modern, efficient biogas plants from planning to commissioning.”
In contrast to Nexogas, which operates biogas plants, generates energy, and whose shareholder structure comprises financial investors, Weltec Biopower focuses on planning, construction, and further development of biogas technologies.
