In Denmark, St1 Biokraft AB, the biomethane arm of Nordic energy major St1 Group, has announced that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of Danish Bio Commodities (DBC), following the fulfilment of all required regulatory approvals. The transaction, which was announced on June 30, 2026, marks an important milestone in St1 Biokraft’s growth journey and supports the company’s ambition to become the leading Nordic biomethane player.
The acquisition marks St1 Biokraft’s entry into the Danish market, one of Europe’s most developed biomethane (aka renewable natural gas – RNG) markets.
Through DBC, St1 Biokraft adds more than 350 GWh of production capacity and approximately 900 GWh in the development pipeline.
The transaction includes five production assets, four wholly owned and a 25 percent stake in a fifth, alongside a development pipeline of six greenfield biomethane projects.
DBC also brings market-facing capabilities and an experienced local team with expertise in biomass sourcing, biogas production, trading and technical services.
The transaction, the value of which has not been disclosed, supports St1 Biokraft’s 2030 targets of reaching 3 TWh per annum in own production and 6 TWh in sales and distribution.
