This new funding opportunity is entitled “Accelerating Innovations in Biomanufacturing Approaches through Collaboration Between NSF and the DOE BETO-Funded Agile BioFoundry.”
According to a statement, the goal of the funding opportunity is to accelerate innovation and adopt new biomanufacturing approaches.
Proposals are sought from higher education institutions, non-profit organizations, and other eligible stakeholders. Proposals must utilize the Design-Build-Test-Learn platform of the ABF, which unites national laboratory facilities to help bioproducts from design to market with improved economic feasibility and minimized environmental impact.
The world-class ABF platform helps translate technology from the laboratory to industrial-scale with integrated bioreactor cultivation equipment to help researchers better understand the fermentation, purification, and downstream recovery processes.
The total allocated funding is expected to be between US$4 million –US$5 million with applications due by April 4, 2022.
