German company Brüning Group has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Södra Danmark A/S, the Danish solid wood products retail subsidiary of Swedish forest industry major Södra, to acquire Södra’s bioenergy, project sales and interior fit-out divisions in Denmark. The takeover is expected to take place at the end of September 2026.
According to a Södra Danmark statement, the transfer is part of Södra’s “adopted strategy to strengthen its focus on the Group’s core business.”
Södra Wood A/S will continue operations with Thomas Ambrosius, Gry Martiny Schmølker and Gitte Andersen, who will continue to manage sales of construction timber and pressure-treated timber, while Kenny Holm will continue handling the sales of cross-laminated timber (CLT).
New business for Brüning Group
The bioenergy, project sales and interior wood activities will continue as part of Brüning Group Europe. The plan is to transfer these activities and staff to Brüning Group Danmark ApS.
Over many years, Brüning Group has built a strong position within bioenergy and now wishes to strengthen its presence in the Nordic region.
With this planned acquisition, the value of which has not been disclosed, the Danish project sales and interior wood activities will become a new business area within the Group.
In this way, the new organization will build on a solid foundation, combining Brüning Group’s international strength with the experience and customer relationships already established in Denmark and the Nordic region.
