Plant-based health and well-being company Algae.Tec Ltd (AEB) has announced that it has entered into a research agreement with Radient Technologies Inc., (RTI). Under the Agreement, AEB will utilise RTI’s extraction technology as the final step in the production of its high-value algae-based products for supply into the rapidly growing global nutraceutical market.

According to a statement, under the agreement, Algae.Tec Ltd (AEB), an Australia-headed developer of cannabis and algae-derived products for the biofuels, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and animal- and aquafeed markets will utilise Canada-based Radient Technologies Inc. (RTI) technology for the extraction of high-quality lipid content from AEB’s algae powders.
This is a significant partnership for AEB as it will enable us to leverage RTI’s superior extraction technology, and it represents one of the final steps in the production of a variety of products for the high-end nutraceuticals market, said Mal James, Executive Chairman, and Managing Director AEB.
Initial algae samples having already being shipped to RTI’s state-of-the-art facility in Edmonton, Canada. First results from this extraction testing are expected to be received in Q3 2018. RTI’s proprietary Microwave Assisted Processing MAP technology has successfully demonstrated over the last decade to increase the yield and consistency of the active ingredients from plants, including algae, in a cost-efficient manner.
The global nutraceuticals market provides a compelling opportunity for the business and we look forward to providing our shareholders with the outcomes of this first round of extraction testing this quarter. Radient Technologies prides itself on providing innovative extraction solutions for high-quality natural ingredients, and we look forward to embarking on this research agreement with Algae.Tec., said Denis Taschuk, President & CEO of RTI.
