Italian biomass heating appliance designer and manufacturer La Nordica-Extraflame Group has announced that its AMIKA wood pellet stove kitted with the new "SCHOTT ROBAX" NightView glass-ceramic has been awarded a German Design Award 2021 in the Excellent Product Design category.

AMIKA is a La Nordica-Extraflame pellet stove with an airtight combustion chamber and hermetic tank, with a neat and elegant design. Its rounded shape, the front tempered steel facing, and the elegant Majolica top, available in the burgundy, white, black, and stone versions, make this stove an extremely versatile solution, suited to almost any room and style.
For 2020, this model has been enriched with a brand new accessory: the new translucent black glass-ceramic “SCHOTT ROBAX” NightView.
This innovative solution, developed by SCHOTT, one of the leading manufacturers of glass-ceramic for fireplaces, and tested in collaboration with La Nordica-Extraflame, creates a new pellet fire concept: when the stove is in operation it guarantees calmer and more pleasant flames and, when the stove is off, it obscures the combustion chamber with a dark and shiny surface.
The successful fusion of these two elements has led to an excellent result, both from a functional and aesthetic point of view, so much that this project has been chosen and awarded from The German Design Award, one of the most widely recognised international design awards.
Promoted by the German Design Council, Germany’s leading authority on design and brands, prizes are awarded to projects that “truly represent pioneering contributions” to the German and international design landscape
