Austria-headed International technology group Andritz AG has revealed that it has signed a Letter of Award (LoA) with Chile-headed forest industry major Celulosa Arauco y Constitucion S.A. (ARAUCO) for the supply of major technologies and equipment for the modernization and extension of the ARAUCO pulp mill in Chile.
In July 2018, ARAUCO announced that it was proceeding to invest US$2.35 billion in project MAPA, a major modernization and capacity expansion programme at its Arauco pulp mill in Chile.
According to Andritz, it will supply – on an engineering, procurement, and supply (EPS) basis – the woodyard, fiberline, white liquor plant, and evaporation system for the new 1.5 million tonnes per annum bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) pulp line, line 3. The value of the order is around EUR 300 million.
