Finland-based biogas and biodiesel technology suppliers BioGTS Oy has announced that it has concluded an agreement to deliver a gas-to-power generation system to South Vietnam. The system, with production capacity up to 720 kW, utilizes raw landfill gas (LFG) that is collected from an operational landfill and will be used for electricity and heat generation.

Mika Rautiainen, the CEO of BioGTS, sees the project as an important first step for opening door to the Vietnamese renewable energy market.
The waste-to-energy sector is growing very rapidly in Vietnam at the moment. We are very excited to be part of that growth, said Rautiainen.
According to Rautiainen, BioGTS’s solutions are factory-made, pre-fabricated units that are ready to be installed on-site. The delivery of such system helps the customer to significantly reduce emission as well as production costs through self-generated electricity.
The components are scheduled to be delivered to Vietnam during the summer; the on-site installation will begin in the fourth quarter of 2018, and full operation is expected by the end of 2018. Technology partner of the project is 2G Energy AG.
