Post-consumer, industrial- and construction and demolition wood waste awaiting further processing at a recycling facility. Biomass- and waste-to-energy technology providers DP CleanTech Group and JOULON, a Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR) portfolio company have entered a strategic partnership to focus on the emerging prospects in the waste management and environmental services industry. The collaboration will explore new ways to create value in the waste management industry.

According to a statement, the move brings together JOULON’s depth and breadth of expertise in life cycle asset management (LCAM) services and DP CleanTech’s technologies, capabilities, and long-established knowledge and presence in the industry.

We are delighted to be working with a partner that presents such a complementary balance of skills and values to our own. We share a vision that the sustainability of the industry is critical to the long-term health of society, and we believe that together we have the infrastructure, the technology, and the platforms to achieve a win-win for the industry, our business, and the environment, said Simon Parker, CEO of DP CleanTech.

At a time of fundamental change in the global economy and renewed momentum on climate issues, the industry is undergoing a significant shift, presenting opportunities to streamline and redefine the sector. The collaboration will explore new ways to create value in the waste management industry.

It is increasingly evident that effective waste management will be a cornerstone of the global strategic response to environmental and societal challenges. JOULON, in partnership with DP intends to bring a step-change in the concept and implementation of sustainable waste management solutions to help the industry become more efficient and effective in meeting these challenges, said Dean Watson, Group CEO of JOULON.
