In Vietnam, local media reports that the state-run ethanol producer Central Biofuels Joint Stock Company (BSR-BF) has resumed ethanol production at its idled Dung Quất Biofuel Plant.
According to Viet Nam News, the Dung Quất Biofuel Plant in the central province of Quảng Ngãi has produced its first batch of fuel ethanol since April 2015. Production at the 9 m3 per hour facility will continue until October 28 when it will be stopped for a maintenance review.
During the fortnight-long production campaign, the plant is expected to run at 65 percent of capacity to produce about 2 000 tonnes of cassava-derived fuel ethanol.
Dung Quất Biofuel Plant was completed in 2012 with a total investment of VNĐ1.9 trillion (US$81 million) but was idled in April 2015 in a bid to stem financial losses. Managed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the plant resumed operations on October 14.
