ElectraTherm ships 17th biomass Power+ Generator to the UK

ElectraTherm Inc, a US developer and manufacturer of distributed, waste heat to power generation using Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology has announced that it has shipped it 17th machine to the United Kingdom (UK) for a biomass application. It also marks the first shipment from its new manufacturing plant in Flowery Branch, Georgia.

The 50 000 square foot (≈ 4 645 m2) facility was completed last month, and it includes a manufacturing plant and R&D test centre (photo courtesy ElectraTherm).

These developments follow the 2016 acquisition of ElectraTherm by BITZER, the world’s largest independent manufacturer of refrigeration compressors.

The shipment of the Power+ Generator to the UK marks the 21st biomass application in its fleet of more than 50 machinesin 11 countries. It also is the 17th biomass application in the UK along with other biomass sites include Oregon, Florida, Maryland in the US and Italy.

ElectraTherm’s first shipment from the new BITZER US facility is very exciting. Bringing the technological and manufacturing strength of BITZER to the ElectraTherm product line will allow the team to focus on business development and market creation worldwide, said John Fox, ElectraTherm’s Managing Director.

The Power+ Generator utilizes waste heat on applications such as internal combustion engines, biomass boilers, flare gas at oil and gas wells, wastewater treatment plants and landfills, geothermal/co-produced fluids.
