Sweden-headed wood fibre supplier Skogsaktiebolaget Eternali (Eternali) has announced that its Brazilian operations have entered into a new biomass supply agreement with energy utility ComBio Energia S.A., covering the coming twelve months.

According to a statement, this agreement deepens the strategic partnership between the two companies, ensuring ComBio Energia’s continued access to biomass from Eternali’s production facility in Moju, while securing a significant volume commitment for Eternali from a key customer.

ComBio Energia is a key player in Brazil’s green energy transition and a leading supplier of biomass-based renewable energy to the industrial sector with its energy-as-a-service business model.

Operating ten industrial biomass plants around the country, ComBio Energia was the first company to receive biomass shipments from Eternali’s Moju facility in the State of Pará in northern Brazil, starting from its very first day of operations in November last year.

The decision to commit to a long-term agreement is seen as a strong vote of confidence in both the demand for and the quality of Eternali’s offering.

This is truly a confirmation that we’re on the right track. We’re currently experiencing such high demand for biomass from our Moju facility that we’ve had to prioritize which customers to supply, as we simply can’t produce enough to meet all requests. With this agreement, ComBio is showing their belief in us and their desire to secure consistent deliveries from our facility – something that’s quite rare for a company as new to the market as we are, said Gustavo Silveira, COO at Eternali.

Through this agreement, Eternali is set to deliver between 12,000 and 18,000 tonnes of biomass to ComBio Energia over the next 12 months, with the possibility of extending the partnership further.
