DMT Environmental Technology has revealed that it has signed a contract to supply a biogas upgrading unit to a large farm-based biogas plant in Estonia. The delivery marks the first biomethane production facility in the country.

Netherlands-headed DMT Environmental Technology (DMT-ET), a global player in the field of biogas upgrading, water treatment and desulphurisation plants, has revealed that it has been selected to supply a biogas upgrading unit to Estonia. At the end of October DMT-ET had signed a contract to supply a CarborexMS 350 unit to a manure-based biogas plant in Viljandimaa in the south of the country. Delivery is scheduled for August 2017 and the unit will produce 150 kg bio-CNG per hour.
A government programme to stimulate public transport in Estonia to run on electricity and bio-CNG has come underway. Investment into biogas upgrading in Viljandimaa is a pilot project under the programme and marks the first biomethane production facility for the country. In addition to Estonia, DMT-ET is currently building biogas upgrading plants in Denmark, the Netherlands, US and UK. In the latter, the company has already delivered thirteen biogas upgrading plants along with additional technology for the production of bio-CNG, bio-LNG and refuelling stations.
