DMT to supply world’s largest biogas membrane upgrading installation

DMT Clear Gas Solutions has announced that has been selected to build the world's largest biogas upgrading installation using membrane technology at a biogas project in the US. It will also be the company's first biogas upgrading installation in the US.

DMT Clear Gas Solutions LLC (DMT CGS) , a US subsidiary of Netherlands-based DMT Environmental Technology, has announced that it has been selected to build what it says is the world’s largest biogas upgrading installation using the latest membrane technology at an undisclosed biogas plant project in the US. According to a statement this will also be the first DMT biogas upgrading installation in the US.

The plant will use pig manure as feedstock to produce the biogas. DMT CGS scope of supply includes the pretreatment installation to remove the sulphur as well as the membrane technology to upgrade the biogas. The upgraded biogas or biomethane will then be injected into the gas grid. The value of the order has not been disclosed.

– This is an amazing project. Not only because of its size but especially because of its relevance for the industry. We are very proud of this achievement and could not have done it without the close collaborations we had with our partners and of course all our colleagues in the Netherlands. We are going to build the biggest biogas upgrading plant in the history of DMT but also in the history using high selective membranes, said Robert Lems, General Manager of DMT Clear Gas Solutions LLC.
