Estonia-headed wood processing technology provider AS Hekotek has announced that it secured an order for the delivery of a complete wood pellet plant from Biomass Fuel Vietnam Co Ltd. The order marks the company's first order to Vietnam an entrance into the South East Asia wood pellet sector.
According to a statement, initial planning and construction works have already been started for the 160 000 tonne-per-annum capacity plant being built in Nghe An province in Vietnam. The plant will use low-quality pulpwood, woodchips and sawdust from eucalyptus, acacia and pine to produce wood pellets primarily destined for the Japanese market.
The scope of supply includes a log debarking and chipping line, 20 000 tonne pellet storage capacity, drum dryers and six CPM pellet presses. The transportation of the equipment is estimated to begin in spring of 2019 with the plant scheduled to begin commissioning by the end of 2019.
