Götaverken Miljö has announced that it has won the contract by AffaldVarme Aarhus in Denmark to supply a flue gas condenser to its Lisbjerg waste-to-energy plant.
Swedish flue gas technology suppliers Götaverken Miljö AB has announced that it has been awarded a contract by Danish energy utility AffaldVarme Aarhus to supply a flue gas condenser unit to its Lisbjerg waste to energy plant in a bid to increase the overall energy efficiency of the combined heat and power (CHP) plant. The value of the order has not been disclosed.
The Lisbjerg facility has a capacity to treat 16 tonnes of waste per hour for heat and power production. AffaldVarme Aarhus will also utilise the condensate from the flue gas to produce make-up water for the boiler and district heating net. The scope of supply includes a new flue gas fan, new flue gas ducts, condenser, demisters of ADIOX dioxin removal material in order to prevent problems with dioxin memory effect as well as a complete water treatment system.
The condensate will be purified in several stages to obtain a quality to be used as make-up district heating water and boiler water. The water treatment system includes ultrafiltration and reversed osmosis followed by an electro deionisation (EDI) system. The flue gas condensation unit will generate approximately 7 MW heat to the district heating system.
Installation works will start in June 2017 and the plant will be ready for take-over at the end of 2017.
