Set-up in March 2015, the Ferrostaal Topsoe Projects GmbH joint venture aimed to position itself as a “leading player” in developing, financing and realizing major industrial projects in the petrochemical, refining, and environmental sectors. According to a statement, the transaction adds strong project development competencies to Topsoe’s market-leading portfolio of high-performance catalyst and proprietary technologies for the chemical and refining industries.
By adding the competency of project planning and development to our strong technology portfolio we can offer even better service to our customers. Going forward, our complete offerings entail licensing, catalysts, proprietary equipment, services, and project development, said Amy Hebert, Deputy CEO & EVP Chemicals, Haldor Topsoe A/S.
Acquisitions support Topsoe’s growth strategy. The acquisition of Ferrostaal Topsoe Projects GmbH will strengthen Topsoe’s existing business within ammonia, methanol, gas-to-liquids (GTL), and refinery, along with upcoming development projects.
We look forward to welcoming our new colleagues in Germany. They are experienced experts, who offer proficient project development support to our customers from the very early stages of their projects. In addition, they have financial experience and bring with them a strong network and access to financial institutions, helping our customers finance and realize their projects, said Amy Hebert.
The transaction was finalized on August 3, 2018, and full integration is expected to be complete by September 1, 2018. The future name will be ’Haldor Topsoe Germany GmbH’ and the location will be in Essen, Germany. The value of the transaction price has not been disclosed.
