Sweden-based measurement technology developer Mantex AB has announced that it has entered into a 10-year agreement with Swedish pulp producer Waggeryd Cell AB to deliver a moisture measurement service for measuring woodchips on arrival control through the use of a Biofuel Analyzer. The service will start in the second half of 2018. The deal has a total value of just over SEK 3 million (≈ EUR 303 000). The agreement extends over the period 2018 - 2028.
According to a statement, Waggeryd Cell has used a Mantex Desktop Scanner for around a decade as the basis for pricing and checking woodchips for paper mills. The Biofuel Analyzer ensures that Waggeryd Cell can also have a simple and trouble-free quality control of its most important raw material in the future.
Waggeryd Cell produces Bleached ChemoMechanical Pulp (BCTMP) and is wholly owned by the ATA Group, a major Swedish manufacturer of sawn timber. The raw material consists of sawmill chips, mainly derived from sawmills within the ATA group.
