In Finland, LED lighting solutions developer and supplier Meltron Oy has announced that it has received a pilot order for its EX gas explosion proof lights, described as a "first important order" from compatriot gas major Gasum Oy.
According to the company, the modular Meltron EX Lighting System is a state-of-the-art industrial light-emitting diode (LED) lighting system specifically designed for use in dangerous and the most demanding environments with a high risk of explosion, due to various types of gases, and dust such as oil and gas refineries, mining industries, and other industries requiring the best in safety.
ATEX/IECEx-certified, and tested to withstand extreme weather conditions, mechanical vibrations, impacts, and UV-radiation, Meltron’s MEXLS is designed to withstand high ambient temperatures, voltage surges, and electromagnetic disturbances. The extremely strong and durable tube enclosure is sealed to withstand water pressure, fluids and dust up to IP66, and has been tested against hard impacts. It is suitable for indoor/outdoor use and is available with a clear or opal lens for the best light distribution.
Meltron has received a pilot order for the EX gas explosion proof lights from Gasum Oy in Finland. Gasum produces biogas and biomethane and distributes natural gas, biomethane, and liquefied natural gas/liquefied biogas LNG/LBG and runs a network of gas filling stations in Finland, Sweden and Norway, primarily for heavy traffic and transportation.
This is a first small order from Gasum Oy for a filling station in Finland, to be installed in two months time.
