OP Group has announced that it has acquired the assets of Erjo OSW AB, a Swedish chipper manufacturer that filed bankruptcy in July this year. The new company OP Erjo AB will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of OP Group effective immediately.

On July 12, Sweden-based Erjo OSW AB, a manufacturer of chippers and allied equipment for the wood processing and biomass industries filed for bankruptcy. A month later Olofsson-Persson AB (OP Group), a Sweden-headed group of companies that manufacture, sell and service a range of recycling equipment and machinery on the Nordic market announced that it had acquired the assets of Erjo OSW and will operate the company as a wholly owned subsidiary under the new name OP Erjo AB.
According to a statement OP Group all staff have been offered continued employment and OP Erjo AB will continue the manufacture and service of Erjo machinery at its facility Markaryd, Sweden.

Furthermore, it sees an opportunity to develop products with the experience available at Erjo and in the other OP companies. For instance there are plans to develop truck-mounted Doppstadt chippers in Markaryd, for which OP Group is a Scandinavian representative via its subsidiary OP System AB. OP Erjo AB also plans to offer service for logging trucks, timber superstructures and crane service.
