In the United States (US), the Pellet Fuels Institute (PFI) has announced that it has made the decision to cancel the "in-person" portion of the 2020 PFI Annual Conference scheduled to take place June 23-26 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (WI) citing the "historic disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has made it impossible for us to safely travel, gather, and connect."
Instead, the pellet industry trade association says that virtual options to connect are currently being explored as it is at the annual conference various organizational formalities are also conducted.
Our annual conference is an important touchstone in our calendar year. It serves as a platform to assess the strength of our industry, chart its trajectory, and identify the challenges and opportunities in front of us. We established great momentum for our annual conference in 2019 and were excited to carry it into this year’s conference. Our challenge now is to build a virtual equivalent that delivers as much of the in-person experience as is practicable, commented Tim Portz, Executive Director of PFI.
