Samson Materials Handling Ltd, a subsidiary of Netherlands-headed global material handling and storage technology providers Aumund Holding BV has announced that it has received an order from Black & Veatch, a global leader in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for energy and water, for two Samson Material Feeders type 450 Super Series to operate as sludge cake reception units for Yorkshire Water in the UK.

According to a statement, bulk sludge cake will be delivered directly to the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) using 30 m³ tipper trucks. Roller shutter doors will open at the push of a button enabling the vehicle to reverse into the discharge position.

When the truck is in position the belt on the Samson Feeder will start up and discharge onto a screw conveyor. The units have a holding capacity of 30 m³ and are designed to receive material at a variable rate up to 120 m³ per hour while able to discharge material at a variable rate down to 30 m³ per hour. The units are to be commissioned at the end of 2017.
